in 1994, I restored a Galloway 7 hp engine & sawrig that had been in
my family since it was new. I started the project as a legacy to my grandfather,
but was soon bitten by the old engine bug, resulting in six more Galloways
taking up residence in my garage. As I was working on the sawrig, I got
to wondering exactly how old it was. I couldn't find any paperwork that
might've come with it, and I also discovered that there were no Galloway
Company records in existance. So with no serial number lists around, I
started collecting numbers from other Galloway engines. I wrote an article
& put ads in GEM magazine, &
I scoured all the engine shows around here looking for Galloways. In the
list that resulted, there were several serial numbers from engines that
had original paperwork with them showing the date they were bought. From
this list, I can now give a pretty good estimate as to when a Galloway
engine was made. Click here to download your

In the photo section there are pictures of Galloway engines I've seen. I'm going to try to show just about every style of Galloway made, once I get pictures of them. There are also pictures of a manure spreader, cream separator, & burr mill made by the Galloway Company. Along with having seven engines, I've also collected some original Galloway literature, consisting of advertisments, manuals, & catalogs. Here in the literature section are some examples of what I have. If there are any images you would like to see clearer, let me know and I'll send you a better quality scan. My favorite links page has several sites that are devoted to gas engines & farm antiques. If you have a site that you would like included here, let me know & I'll take care of it.
